A Pair Staffordshire Pottery Pipe Smoking Dogs - circa 1850

Inspired by the Sir Edwin Landseer painting,
"A Quiet Pipe".

Another classic pair.
Dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds,
These pipe smokers are among the most desired.

This is very rare pair,
a true pair that have always been together
and they have great provenance.

For such a subtly painted pair of dogs,
they really stand out.
They just have presence,
they are quite large
and they are superb.

There is restoration to 1 pipe.

Provenance: Woodstock Antiques.

This is the actual figure; Page 132, Figure 2
A - Z of Staffordshire Dogs,
by Clive Mason Pope

Height: 10.5 inches
