A Pair of Staffordshire Spaniels with Pups - circa 1845
A pair of Staffordshire blue-eyed spaniels
with their pups.
Queen Victoria's favourite dog was a King Charles Spaniel named "Dash"
and the Staffordshire potters started making Spaniels of all shapes and sizes to
decorate fireplaces throughout the Country.
These spaniels are well painted.
With their blue eyes and red feathered markings,
in contrast to their black and white puppies.
The right hand dog has a crack
on the neck under the chin.
There are some chips to their bases
and a little flaking to the red enamels.
They are priced cheaply to reflect the above faults.
There is no restoration.
Height: 7.75 inches
