A Pair of Staffordshire Irish Setters - circa 1850

This lovely pair of Setters have bright,
feathered red markings, finely painted snouts, separate front legs,
black and white puppies at their feet
and very distinctive green bases.

Irish Setters were very good working dogs in the nineteenth century
and a very popular breed.
They must have been a good family dog,
our Staffordshire potters made a number of models with children.

Irish Setters of this model are scarce,
usually found on cobalt blue bases,
but decorated with distinctive green bases make this pair
desirable and exceptionally rare.

These delightful setters are in absolutely excellent condition,
with no damage and no restoration.

Height: 8 inches
