A Pair of Staffordshire Greyhounds High & Mighty - circa 1850

A superb and classic pair of Staffordshire Greyhounds.

Nearly all the Staffordshire "Long Dogs" are indeed Greyhounds.
Often referred to as Whippets, no - the king of dogs in Victorian times
was the Greyhound.  Coursing was hugely popular and the
Champion dogs were celebrities.

This pair is the large version.
Excellently modelled
and beautifully painted.

They are in very good condition,
with no restoration

Height: 12.25 inches
