A Pair of Staffordshire Pottery Spaniels - circa 1845
A delightful and quality pair of Spaniels.
Queen Victoria's favourite dog was a King Charles Spaniel named "Dash"
and the Staffordshire potters started making Spaniels of all shapes and sizes to
decorate fireplaces throughout the Country.
This is a really lovely pair.
Occasionally Staffordshire Spaniels this good turn up.
This pair are beauties.
They have a porcellaneous body,
they are beautifully modelled,
black and white enamel colouring,
seated on lovely coloured, gilded, tassled cushions
and thay have fantastic faces.
These delightful spaniels are in excellent condition.
There is no damage.
There is no restoration.
