A Staffordshire Figure of Sir Colin Campbell - circa 1854
A rare figure of a true British hero.
Field Marshall Campbell
fought and was injured twice in the Peninsular War.
He was knighted for services in the Second Sikh War of 1848/49.
When the Crimean War of 1854-56 started
he was appointed in command of the Highland Brigade
and was credited for the Allied victories
at Balaclava and Alma.
In 1857 he was appointed Commander-in-Chief
of the British forces during the Indian Mutiny
and subsequently created a Baron.
This rare figure is in good condition,
a little flaking of the enamels
and rubbing to the gilt title.
There is no damage.
There is no restoration.
