A Staffordshire Figure of Eliza Cook - circa 1849

A wonderful example of the famous English Poetess.
Made by the "Alpha" factory.

Eliza Cook was a famous and popular English Poetess
in the 19th century.
The daughter of a London Tradesman,
Eliza published hundreds of works
from the 1830's - 1860's.

This figure is a beautifully painted example
and this is arguably one of our Alpha Factory's most attractive models.
Not in terms of number of moulds,
but just the quality of modelling and decoration.

Free with the figure is the book;

The Poetical Works of

Eliza Cook

The complete edition
with explanations
and engraved illustrations.
in great condition.

The combination of lovely pastel colours
make this example a bobby dazzler.
You will not find better.
The enamels,
the modelling,
the glaze
and the gilding
are superb.

The figure is in excellent condition,
with no damage and no restoration.

Height: 10 inches
