Queen Victoria and Prince Albert,

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were the real celebrities
of the mid nineteenth century.

Born in 1819, Queen Victoria succeeded to the throne in 1837
and died in 1901after a reign of almost 64 years, the longet in British history,
with the exception of our current Queen.
In 1840 she married her 1st cousin Prince Albert
and the Prince Consort died of typhoid feverin 1861.

Queen Victoria is associated with Britain's great age of industrial expansion,
economic progress and, especially empire.  At her death, it was said,
Britain had a worldwide empire on which the sun never set.
Queen Victoria is associated with the start of our style of figures,
our figures are Victotian Staffordshire Figures.
