Born in 1820 Florence was named after the city of her birth.
She became a legend for her work during the Crimean War 1854-1856,
but worked tirelessly for army sanitary reform, the improvement of nursing
and general public health until her death in 1910.
Another classic Staffordshire Figure,
this rare model is exceptionally lightweight earthenware
and it can be prone to flaking or chipping of the pottery.
this example is a cracker in every way,
the modelling is 1st class and is it is beautifully painted.
It has no damage or restoration.
